I don’t know about you, but I love magazines. Like, really love them. I remember when I was in middle school and bought my first magazine called Teen. I couldn’t wait to get home from the store, lay in my bed, read all of the articles, and see all of the latest fashion trends. I remember that feeling distinctly, however after a while, that initial super giddy feeling about magazines fades with time. Until today. I haven’t felt this excited about reading a new magazine since my middle school days, and let me be clear that Vintage Life Magazine is a must-have for every pinup’s coffee table. It celebrates our style – not only fashion, but home style as well. If you’re a vintage enthusiast, this magazine will have you feeling like each page was tailor-made with you specifically in mind. With my glass of cherry wine in hand, I happily got lost in each page. |
For starters, the front and back cover is on quality paper which is much appreciated from someone like me who loves to collect a library of magazines (but they also have digital subscriptions available!). The photographs on the covers are always high fashion vintage-styled images. The issue I’m specifically referencing in this article is the May 2015 issue and the colors of that cover are vibrant and full of energy. The model is gorgeous and posing pinup perfect in a close up wearing her vintage sunglasses. The glasses she’s wearing is a prelude to the informative articles inside about vintage glasses. I was especially excited about reading this because I’ve been in need of prescription glasses and have my heart set on getting cat-eye vintage ones. |
The images throughout the magazine are sophisticated and classic that are true reflections of past era looks. The articles are interesting and full of useful information. I love how there are sections of the magazine that cover broad topics such as: My Style, My Look, My Health, My Life, My Home, My Food, My Culture, and My Society. There are about four to thirteen subtopics under each main topic section. I enjoyed reading a wide range of stories that include everything from an interesting article about a 1960s designer in the My Style section, to an article under the My Health section that is a wonderfully written piece about the one and only Audrey Hepburn’s healthy eating habits. One of the homes featured in the My Home section was a 40s/50s tiki home that is absolutely retro-fab! |
Each beauty tip featured is a must-try and every fashion design advertised is a must-buy! Most of the stories in the magazine inspired me creatively to enhance my fashion look as well as my home décor. No matter what your hobbies are, if you’re a vintage-style loving gal, there is something for you in this charming magazine. They have thought of it all for you and it’s presented in this monthly publication. |
